Mercedes Workshop Information System (WIS)
Version G.07.07, September 2005
Worldwide Version - Multiple Languages, All Regions
Requires Windows 2000 or Windows XP

1. Run: x:\wis\D2Kinst\Setup.exe (X=DVD drive). This installs a
standalone "WIS Lite" that does not need a client/server setup. If your
PC does not have an Ethernet network card (NIC) installed, you may need
a loopback adapter. Or just get a network card installed, it doesn't
need to be connected to any network, it just has to be present.

2. Select "English". When asked if "Client/Server-Installer"
should be started, select "NO", then "Next".

3. Leave the default selections for everything else, just click
   "Next" when prompted.

4. Use the keygen to create a license key, based on the LAN ID shown.

5. When asked if you want to use the "Hard-Disk Cache Option", click
"Yes". Then, on the left side of the dialog box, select the hard
drive you want to copy to (about 7GB) and deselect the drives
you don't want (if you have more than one). Then, on the right side
check all the sections (RFILE001, 2, 3, 4) and select the drive
letter from each pull-down menu. Ignore the "force copy" box, that's
if you have an older version and want to overwrite existing RFILE's.
   Click "Next" and/or "Start".

6. If the Mercedes Program Manager is not already installed (as part of
the EPC installation process), you must install Mercedes Program Manager.
Otherwise the WIS will crash when you use the keyboard to type in certain
fields. The installer for Program Manager can be found at this path on
   Disc 1: \wis\pminst\Setup.exe

7. After Program Manager installs, you can remove the "HP Update Access
Account" by going to Start, Settings, Control Panel, User Accounts,
and selecting the option to delete this account.

8. After launching the WIS program, change the language to English.
To do this, select the bottom button, System Administration
("Systemverwaltung"), then the next bottom button Language
Selection ("Sprachauswahl"). In the left "Language" box
("Sprachen") choose "Englisch", then click "Setzn". Now go back
there again by clicking Language Selection. On the top right,
click each of the three Language Priorities and set them to the
preferred language (probably English, American-English, then
German). Click OK at the bottom. FAILURE TO SET THE LANGUAGES
WILL RESULT IN A "No Documents Found" ERROR WHEN USING WIS!!!

9. Additional documentation is on Disc 1 at this path: \wis\README

Note: If keygen is not available, try to copy & paste this key when prompted (including the asterisk):

*1rrt0zsz24vm0zthhdxvhhtz3ljxteonyquzqyd0vrugm

Note: the asterisk is required; in the part "z3lj" the "l" is the
letter L and not the digit one. This key may only provide access to
the WIS, it may not unlock the ASRA or Damage Code data.
